Wee Florist Slider Easel Card

Hi all, another Wonderful Wednesday – and it is almost APRIL – which means you only have a couple of more days to enter the March Birthday Challenge at OCS
I could not wait to color up this beautiful little “Wee Florist” from Whimsy Stamps, available at OCS.  I chose to make a “Slider Easel Card” / aka:  Pull Tab Card aka: Hidden Message Card.  P1010258 copy P1010251 copy  The image was just so darn cute to color, I can hardly wait

to color the other ones I have not inked up yet.  SIGH – another time.
My card measures 5” x 5 1/2”.   I started with stamping “Wee Florist” onto Xpress Blend It Cardstock with  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers (too many to remember unfortunately).
The image was die cut with Spellbinders Labels 23, and instead of cutting a mat, I simply ran a black Sharpie around the edge to create the illusion of a very thin mat.
Papers are from Basic Grey and SU.  An MS border punch was used to create the lacy look down the sides.  Ribbon and flowers can be found in the embellishment dept. at OCS.
Take time to “Stamp up a storm and ink up a wish” and send it on to someone special.
Until next time.  ~ Rubber Hugz ~

Black, White and Pink Happy Birthday

Hi all,  Well Spring is supposedly here – right?  Here in Vernon, it’s windy and cold, snowing at night and melting by 9 a.m.  Weird!
I’m showcasing some new items that I have purchased from my absolutely favorite on-line store…………  So many toys and pretties to chose from!!
I’ve made this card for a friend, who has made it quite clear that she doesn’t like colored images on cards . . . . .  dead silence?? Well, she’s a wonderful friend and I love her just the same.
My card is a clean and simple but I got to use a whole bunch of fun elements.
Card Recipe:
  • 11” x 4 1/4” white cardstock  (scored at  5”)
  • Run 6” part through the beautiful  Marianne Designable – Vintage die -  then I Scallop embossed the edge with the Large Scallop die from the Spellbinders Classic Edges 1.
  • Scallop a pink piece ( 4 3/8” x 6”) of cardstock on the 4 3/8” edge (using the Large Scallop die from the Spellbinders Classic Edges 1
  • Repeat with a piece of black cardstock ( 41/2” x 6 1/4”)
  • Adhere Pink behind front white and the black behind inside white flap. Make sure to keep the edges equal.
  • Scraps of White, Pink and Black – to mat a small sentiment
  • Use Black Scrap to punch ferns (Martha Stewart Fern Punch)
  • Tie pink ribbon around card and tie into a bow.
  • Tuck sentiment and black fern punchies under knot of bow.
  • Add flowers of your choice – Lora has such a beautiful selection here.
  • I like to make my flowers sturdy for mailing by using Diamond Glaze – it also adds a bit of iridescent gloss.
  • I stamped the inside of my card with Tsukineko Jet Black StazOn with a beautiful flourish stamp called Lavish Flourishes by Whimsy stamps.
  • Lavish Flouish insideA row of white half pearls  (which I colored pink with copic marker R81) was added to the scallops on the front.
I’ve used a lot of different products from the OCS store.   Hope you like it.

“YETI” ’nother Birthday Card

Hi all, another Wonderful Wednesday to look forward to.  In our area, the weather can’t make up it’s mind to let go of winter or proceed with Spring – every day is a mystery!! lol

I’ve got a really quick card to show you today. P1010239 copy The image I chose is Yeti Cocoa, from OCS.  I stamped “Yeti” onto Xpress it Blend cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored it with my copics, fussy cut it out and then adhered it to a transparency which I had stamped the image with StazOn ink.  I backed the transparency with blue c/s allowing allowed the swirls, steam and snow flakes that were in the background to be in the background, which I wanted blue.

Spellbinders Lables Eighteen  (largest) die was used to cut out the card front, the second largest used to cut the white inside mat which was sponged with TH Distress Ink (Stormy Sky) (my favorite color, this month).  I did some faux stitching with a white gel pen to add some interest around the die cuts and added snowflake buttons.  The ribbon at the bottom under Yeti was an “add-on” to cover up a glue blooper.

March is “BIRTHDAY MONTH” for OCS’s BLOG CHALLENGE!  Can’t wait to see your creation!  See you there!!

Magnolia Stamp “system”

Hi,  I’m sharing this with a couple of people who have asked how I organize my sweet, precious Magnolia Stamps.  I haven’t got as many stamps as some people, but do like to keep them close at hand and portable.  I can easily find the page(s) of stamps that I want to transport and put them in another Gina K Binder to carry along with me when I go to our Lake property.
So, here goes. These are the Spines of my Gina K Binders. Each Binder will hold approximately 28 - 30 Magnolia Stamps. I have my own abbreviations for the collections I have. Sweet Crazy Love / SCS; ASS / Accessories Spring & Summer; WTA YASP / Winner Takes All / You Are So Special
These are the Spines of my Gina K Binders/Boxes. Each Binder will hold approx. 28-30 Magnolias.  I have my own abbreviations for the Collections.  ie:  SCL – Sweet Crazy Love; ASS – Accessories Spring & Summer; WTA / YASP – Winner Takes All / You Are So Special, etc. etc.

I have an Index on the front of the Binder and it is double sided to show on inside of Front Below is the Outside Front and Inside Front which is a double-sided index.  8 1/2” x 11 folded in half. Inside FrontThe pages are arranged in newest stamp(s). I have laminated both sides of the pages (Just because I like to keep the pages clean).

I love the way the stamps stick to the laminated sheets without me having to worry about them falling out of the Binder / Box.  You can see that I have made two image sheets exactly identical – one to hold the stamps and one to identify the stamp at a glance. Both sides are laminated because I like to keep them clean of any ink residue.

This is my Cheat Sheet of all my stamps (four pages)
Last but not least is an alphabetical index of all my Maggies, showing me what Binder (and page) each stamp is in.

I have to admit I’m a bit of an organizational freak (being an x-office manager made me this way + being a Virgo does not help.
This is how I started organizing my collection, which I find works for me.  I love the packaging on the Maggies, but cannot be bothered going into the little envelope to retrieve the stamp.  Each and every one of us organizes in a different way to suit our needs.
Hope this gives some of you out there an idea or two.

OCS March Challenge

Hi all, Madge here for the first of March!!!  This is the day that OCS kicks off the current challenge for the month. BIRTHDAY WISHES.  We have a whole week of inspiration for you from the OCS Design Team, OCS Guest Designers and a few pop-in surprises.
I chose a Stamping Bella (Anabel Lulu) Stamp to share with you today.  These images are very elegant.  P1010222 copy Personally, I think they scream for black accents because of the girls black hair (or whatever ink you chose to stamp with.
I used a page of Webster’s Pages and fussie cut out a portion of the leaves to overlap my die cut. the image was stamped onto Xpress Blend It cardstock with Memento Ink (black), and then colored with copics.  I cut out the die, making a mat from black and distressing the white with TH Distress inks (Dusty Concord).  the flowers, ribbon and brad are available at OCS, along with fantastic prices and superior service.
I also decorated the inside of the card, with the same cardstock, and added a sentiment which says “P1010225 It’s your day. . . ENJOY!”  A strip of border punch distressed with Dusty Concord along with the white sentiment label was added.
Hope you enjoy my card – and please drop by OCS to enter your creativeness into the challenge for March. There are prizes to be WON.
