Try it Tuesday #9

Hi all, for another Try It Tuesday.
I’ve been playing in my craft room with the Lace Doily Border 1 Die; Lace Doily Corner 1 Die; and Vines Die.clip_image002clip_image003clip_image005
I must admit I was very skeptical ordering these dies, because I looked at the intricate details and did not think that I would be able to cut them without lots of problems……….. NOT. I was so pleased at the details that showed up after cutting!! WOWSERS!! The die cuts actually look like hammered tin. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! I separated the die cut from the die and just ran my finger over it to remove the little bits…….NO POKING !!! I am so impressed!!
A LITTLE TRICK WHEN DIE CUTTING: Put a layer of plain old wax paper between your die and cardstock……… Separates the die cut from the die like butter! Well worth the hassle of not having to poke out all those intricate little pieces.
Do you remember that saying………. The best laid plans o’ mice an’ men gang aft a-gley……… Yep, it happens! I had what I considered a wonderful image colored, to mess up. Ergo my plans for that project!! Which brought me to using a different image. Which is why I’m waaaaaaaay behind schedule on posting.
My finished projeclip_image007ct for today is a Double Gatefold Card. Why double? Instead of a normal gatefold – It has an extra flap with an image added to overlap the gatefold.
My husband often asks me why I don’t make just ordinary cards – you know like a piece of paper folded once………. Well, I love different folds! Makes card making all the more fun.

If you wish to challenge yourself to make the Double Gatefold – the secret is to start with a 12” x 5 ½” piece of cardstock. Then you score along the 12” edge at: 2”, 4”, 8” and 10”. That will give you the base to decorate however you wish. You can also use an 11” x 5 ½”…..and work out the measurements for scoring (have fun with that one.....lol).
Materials used: Goldie Locks, an Elisabeth Bell image for Whimsy Stamps, 12 x 51/2” white cardstock; 4 - 1 7/8” x 5 3/8” black pieces; 4 – 1 5/8” x 5 1/8” pcs, DSP; Xpress It Blending card; additional DSP and Black for matting; Vines Die; Copic Markers: Skin: R00, E11, R20 Hair: E 25, E29, E27 Clothing: Y20, Y21, Y26, Y28 Misc: C1, C4, YG24. Butterfly, ribbon and brads from stash.
Did you happen to notice the flowers in the bottom left corner??clip_image021
I used the Lace Doily Border 1 Die for them. I did mention that I was “PLAYING” in my craft room, didn’t I?? LOL
clip_image011clip_image013clip_image015clip_image017
I started with the Lacey Die cut…….. In the next photo you can see the cut marks (in black) for each petal. NOTICE the intricate details of the die!!!
You will need 8 petals for each flower. Overlap the cutouts of the petals and glue in place. Four petals will create one layer for the flower.

Here are some layered flowers created, using a ¼” circle punch to add a center to the flowers, and sponging the edges with ink.  Pretty......
clip_image021
Here is the image of my “Crinkled Flowers". The flat layers were sponged with ink with a brad added for the center, then literally pummeled, pinched, folded and scrunched!
As I mentioned before……. I was playing.
Now my disaster for the day……. Oh my intentions were so cotton-pickin’ good……. But my finished product was way toooooo big for my already finished card and I made a very noticeable boo-boo:(
The image is a Chrissie Armstrong image called Crown of Daisies. She is just so pretty. The copics used are the same as above. The reason I am showing you this is because………… Once again, I cut the Lace Doily Border 1 Die into sections and added them to the image to make a border. WOWSERS ………. Oh my, I love the embossing – looks like a hammered tinplate!

Well, that is all I have to show you for today. “Remember, stamp up a storm, ink up a wish and send it on to someone to brighten their day.
Til next week, Rubber hugs, and Whimsy Wishes,

I am like you, I really enjoy making the different folds when making my cards. Makes them so much more fun to make and give. Great idea for the flowers also.

Lastly, included inside your Size - Genetics offer is accessibility to Penis-Wellness.

This acceptance gave ground to many men to look for solutions to their sex-related problems that they had to
hide earlier. As such, it is a good idea to join a program that
has an active member's forum with a specialist advising men on their various problems and doubts.
