Hi all, Madge here for a wonderful Wednesday – following Shari’s Terrific Tuesday card (which was really terrific).

I’m a little distressed today as I had a rough night last night with my little Michou (13-yr old Shih Tzu / Poodle cross). He was having some problems and needed out every half hour all through the night. Needless to say, I kept a close eye on him all day – which makes me very cranky. Worse than having a sick child – at least a child will point to where they are hurting. We will have to keep an eye on him for a couple of days to see if it continues – which will probably mean X-rays / blood tests / etc. etc. if he doesn’t improve. He’s been my best little bud for 13 yrs – used to sit under my desk at work :) He was great at being the official greeter at the office. Anyway my card will be simple – with the explanation to follow.

I’ve chosen to highlight one of Nellie Snellen’s delightful dress-up kids at play called “Hands Up” from the Young Rebel series. I’ve been on a mission lately to use some old techniques and to use up supplies that I haven’t looked at for awhile – and here they are:

Technique: Paper Tearing & Z-fold card.

Supplies: Bo bunny papers, gold seed beads (for sand) Tombow glue (to attach beads); twine , crackle accents to strengthen the anchor cut from c/s, Copic Markers; X-press It Blend c/s; Pearl Pen (Ice White)) (for seashells); Can anyone guess what i used for the lettering and the sea shells?? . . . . . . . . split pea soup mix . . . . . kinda fun poking through a whole package to find the correct letters!! My 110 Copic Marker was used to highlight them. I also drew on the paper to give the illusion of a pirate’s map.

Well, that’s it for this week. Hope your significant other treated you well for Valentine’s Day. I know mine did! (unbeknownst to him . . . lol).

Tilda with Candy Cone

Hi all for another wonderful Wednesday – looks like a Frosty Friday outside here in the Okanagan Valley. We’ve this spectacular thick frost coating all the tree branches and when the sun hits it it is absolutely amazing.

Today I’ve chosen another Magnolia stamp called Tilda with Candy Cone – available at OCS. I’ve had this image colored for a while – but hadn’t gotten an idea of what I wanted to do with her. I was poking through some DSP’s and found a piece of SU, that seemed to fit in perfectly. I have one of the most wonderful SU demo’s and we had just done a couple of unique folded cards – this is not one of them, but the other cards gave me an idea of something that could be done differently. It is a card within a card.
Materials used: Magnolia Stamp – Tilda with Candy Cone; Xpress It blend c/s; Copic Markers; Memento Tuxedo black ink; Doohicky border dies; Shrinky Dink (hearts); Marianne Creatable die; White pearl hearts (died red with Copic marker). Misc. C/S from stash.

Tilda with Sparkles

Hi all, for another wonderful Wednesday – and Feb. 1st!!! I think January is the longest most boring month of the year – unless of course you are on vacation – somewhere warm and sunny.

I have ONE more image colored of “Tilda with Sparkles” which I’ve altered to have her holding a bouquet of hearts. I found some heart paper that matches her outfit perfectly . . . . . what a bonus. So in the tradition of February being the month of “love” – I give you – Tilda with sparkling Hearts. I added some Crackle Accents to the heart in the top right corner . . . the effect is rather neat!

The Flowers and ribbon were an add-on – because in the true Magnolia Fashion – flowers are mandatory. The Ribbon is 1/8” silk ribbon that I swirled by twisting and tacking into place to make it more interesting.

Ellie Loves to Ski

Hi, Madge here for another Wonderful Wednesday. This week the thermometer has climbed and I’m not feeling like such a bear. In fact, I’ve chosen a stamp from YNS (Your Next Stamp) featuring Ellie Loves to Ski.

I started by stamping the image onto Copic Xpress Blend it cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with copics, and cut it into an oval to fit over the Spellbinders largest Lacey Oval die.

The DP’s are from Bo Bunny “Gift of Love” collection. I used SU cardstock to layer the card and for a card base. The trees are from a previous project. They were embossed with white on white, then I added 3 tones of green copics. I dabbed on white Embossing Paste and sprinkled it with Glitter Ritz Cool Tone while it was still wet.

For the metallic looking goggles, I used a very favorite Sakura Stardust Pen – they don’t dry out and last forever. (No need to buy different colors – as the sparkle turns any color to sparkle……They are the Greatest!!

Biker chic

Hellllllloooooooo

– I’m trying to hear an echo through all the snow that is piled up down our driveway, and from here in the “frozen” (baby it’s cold out there!!!!!) interior of BC. BRRRR! Ok, I KNOW we need the snow……… just shut up already! We have a perfectly good ski hill 20 min. north of us…. Can’t the snow stay up there??

OK, I’m not here to whine…… (oh yeah?) On the brighter side I have a cute card to show you today…… It’s a Whimsy Stamp from the Kenny K collection, called Bbbbbbiker Ggggggirl(brrrrrrrrrr, baby put some clothes on !!!)….. I can only hope she is in a nice warm climate!! I really love the Kenny K Collection of stamps……… they are so much fun to put to paper. Ok, I’ll quit funning with you and get down to some serious stuff . . . . . maybe.

Tilda Sparkles

Hi All for another Wonderful Wednesday! Today I’ve chosen a Magnolia Stamp called Tilda Sparkles.
A very dear friend is having a Birthday near the end of the month and I decided to do another “book card”.

While we were away at Christmas I found some Hershey Nuggets (which I couldn’t find for my other Christmas book cards ….grrrr). To dress the nuggets, I made a wrapper for each of them by using a scalloped border punch, distressing the edges and adding a glittered snowflake (randomly).

Supplies used: Copic Xpress It Blend Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Copic Markers, TH Antique Linen Distress Ink, TH Stormy Sky Distress Ink (still my fave), Zig 2-way glue pen, Glitter Ritz "Sand" and Glitter Ritz “Cool Highlights” , Flowers from OCS, MS Border Punch, SU Border Punch, Paper from Stash, SU Snowflake die, Pearl Snowflakes from stash.
My friend has a sparkling personality so I wanted to give this card lots of sparkle – and sparkle it does! ()
I have made a special envelope box for this – and it will be hand delivered!

Red, White & Blue December OCS Challenge card

Hi all, we’re back home – and it feels good to have actual sunshine and not that liquid kind. It rained the entire time we were visiting……. BLAH. But we had fun, visiting with family and friends.

OCS has a NEW challenge for all of you RED & WHITE ( + another color ) fans……… With Valentines Day looming ahead – what a way to make a card for your Significant Other!

I’ve chosen a stamp from Penny Black called SNOWY. Actually this reminds me of our children, bundled up for a day of snow fun…… way back…… a hundred years ago. :) The years before microfibres. The years that you spent two hours getting them dressed with warm sweaters, boots, coats, snowpants, touques, mittens and scarves and then inevitably a little voice could be heard in amongst the foursome “I have to go to the bathroom”. LOL

I had some fun with this little guy – and chose to make an Easel card because this is one of my favorite folds. I made a mistake by smearing a bit of liquid pearl onto my Copic paper – thus I ended up cutting out the image. I stamped a row of trees with Embossing Ink and embossed them in white and sponged the background with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. Then I decided to put a concave shape to SNOWY by putting dimensionals in the center to pop him out a bit. Added some buttons for the suit and sprinkled Ultrafine Glitter onto the pom pom of the hat. The snowflakes were sponged with Stormy Sky. (this is my fave color of distress ink, this month)!
We don’t have any snow here in Vernon – at least not the staying kind.

This card is going to be a “Warm Winter Wish” card for a friend.

Tilda with Christmas Snow Heart

Today was not a good day weather-wise to drive home, so I’m finding myself about 400 km from home separated by bad weather over the pass. I have a very quick post for today using anoher one of my favorite Magnolia images called Tilda with Christmas Snow Heart, available at one Crazy Stamper.com.

Supplies used: White Xpress it, Tuxedo Black Memento ink; Copic markers; Spellbinders Lacey Ovals; Bo Bunny DP, Cherry Cobbler Ribbon and Cardstock.

This front was made into a card box with a hidden surprize of chocolate bar and cash. (see previous post)….

Tilda with Cross Stitched Heart

Hi all, Madge here for another Wonderful Wednesday! Are you all ready for that Magical Day of the Year?? I’m not . . . . but still have a day before we leave for the holidays. . . . . . DH says, we have to make a break for it when the weather is good! The pass that we go over is quite bad in the winter – and storms come in at the drop of a hat.
I’m so enchanted with Magnolia Stamps and so I’ve chosen to showcase one of the Christmas Darling’s called “Tilda with Cross-stitched heart”. She is just so sweet, sitting with her lantern in the snow.
I stamped the image onto Copic Xpress-It Blend C/S with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic Markers, cut her out and used 3D tape to plunk her cute little bottom onto a strip of rolled wide Seam Binding to keep her warm…….. lol. I then added a bow to add some dimension and Stickles on her Heart X Stitch, and accents on the papers. .
The papers I used are from the 25 Days of Christmas Collection available at OCS.

Now for the inside......... I have made this a box card with treats inside....hidden behind a removable plastic sleeve with a Christmas Greeting.

Smooching Birdies

My heart melts whenever I watch the birds in our back yard in the bird feeders in the snow. These cute little birdies are no exception – Winter Birdhouse from Stampavie. image is available at OCS (Your complete online store.)
They are “smooching” birdies, because in my hurry to add “smooch”, I dropped a hair laden with smooch onto the top of my paper…..which led to me taking a layer of paper off to remove the color…..so then I added some TH distress ink (stormy sky) and topped it with some white StazOn. So my birdies are enduring “stormy” weather.
What did we ever do without “Smooch”, Glaze On, Stickles, - they make adding glitz and glitter to a card so easy….What did we ever do without Copic Markers??
I colored this image a while back using Xpress It white, Memento Tuxedo Black ink and for the few times I actually matched the copics to the paper (from stash) I chose.

I’ve used an image from the new Kraftin’ Kimmie Canine Capers 2 set. I adore this image. I colored her to look like my little Michou.

I stamped the image onto Copic X-press It with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with Copic Markers. The Sentiment “No Bones About it. . . You’re Awesome” is included with the image, but I chose to break it apart and stamp the first line onto a piece of paper and cut it into a bone shape. The second line was stamped inside the card (huff method).

Materials used: X-press it, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic Markers, DP’s (Basic Grey - Curio Collection), Tim Holtz Swirl die cut, SU cardstock, Sakura Stardust Pen, and bone buttons from stash.

Tilda and her Bunny

Hi all, Madge here for another Wonderful Woo Hoo Wednesday!!!! The flooring goes into my craft room today!!!!! Have you noticed that the mail and shipping has been delayed? Could it be the weather delaying transport?? I know we’ve had a major storm system on the Coquihalla – I guess it is that time of the year!

Today I’ve got a Magnolia Stamp called Tilda and her Bunny. I loved this little stamp way back when it first came out……….I love her hat! I’m so happy that Lora is carrying Magnolia’s once again – doing cartwheels happy!!

I tried to “glam her up a bit” by adding flowers and pearls and a very ornate punch……I think I overdid it. A very good friend keeps sending me wonderful DP’s and I really wanted to tie Tilda in with mauve and pink and turquoise.

Materials used: Tilda with her Bunny, Xpress Blend-it Memento ink, copic markers, flowers from OCS, An EK Success Border stamp, and Rhinestone and pearls

I loved the way her hat, pants, and shirt turned out – but the front of the shirt has issues………… I tried to make polka dots……..now it is abstract.

The inside of my card is quite plain, but I do like this stamp. So toodles until next Wednesday………..

Birdies Baking – Birthday Wishes

Hi all – Madge here for another Wonderful Wednesday……. following Shari’s Terrific Tuesday………. and previously to that Michelle’s Marvelous Monday.

November is a food / drink theme at OCS, and to keep in the theme, I’ve chosen Birds Baking a Cupcake from Pink Cat Studio.

This was fun to do – and the sticker letters have been rough cut and matted to give the illusion that they are going to topple over….along with the birdies.

Tilda Recipe Card - Tis The Season!!!

Hi, Madge here for another Wednesday. Tis almost the season here in the Okanagan – we had our first snowfall for the season (lasted all of two hours and is gone) OCS is now carrying Magnolia stamps and I am such a Magnolia lover, I just had to color up this image. (besides with a craft room in banker boxes all over our house, this image was just delivered and handy!!)
What could be more perfect for a food/drink theme at OCS Nov. Challenge than a Christmas card / Recipe Card!!

(without recipe tag)

To make the Recipe Card Pocket, score 12” x 5 1/2” cardstock at 3 1/4” and 8 3/4”. Fold top corners down to meet score line and glue to inside. Decorate as desired.
Supplies used: Xpress it blend cardstock, Tilda with Christmas Baking, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic Markers, Bo Bunny “Father Christmas” DP, Ribbon, flowers, Spellbinders Labels eleven, SU border punch, corner rounder and MS fern punch.

Purrrrrrrfect Halloween

Hi all, Madge here for a very late wonderful Wednesday! “The hurrier I go, the behinder I get”. Oh this is soooooo true.

Today I’m using a Kraftin Kimmie image called Kreepy Kitty. I wanted to keep the image simple and use distress inks to bring the white background to my choice of colours. My image appears more purple IRL, however my camera picked up blues.

I stamped the image onto Xpress it with Black Tuxedo Memento Ink, coloured it with copics, and cut it out. The background is Xpress it shaded with Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Dusty Concord, Dried Marigold, Stormy Sky). I then stamped a tree branch, tore and distressed the edges. I added some gold mica chips to give the appearance of leaves in the moonlight. The distressed paper was mounted onto a retired SU cardstock (Marigold Morning) and adhered to Black Cardstock. The sentiment was treated the same.

Simple and easy. Hope it gave you an idea of how this kitty can be used – quick and easy.

Hallowe’en Treat Bag Holder

This will be a very quick tutorial on how to construct the little treat bags shown here. I'm in such a mess and still have to pack to get to Vancouver for the weekend............eeeeeek!!

Materials needed:
6” x 6” piece of designer paper
Two (2) coordinating pcs of C/S -- 4” x 1 1/2”
Two (2) 6” pieces narrow ribbon.
4 brads
Double sided tape and glue
thin piece of velcro (for closure)
Scor Pal or scoring tool

Directions:

Score 6” DP at: 2.5” and 3.5” - rotate 90 degrees.
Score at: 1” and 5”.
Valley fold all score lines.
Working with one of the 2 1/2” scorelines……… Fold the top right corner down to meet the vertical scoreline – work your bone folder to make a nice crisp creases –

You will now have fold lines that resemble two intersecting V’s.
Fold matching top and bottom of bag.
Pinch center folds together to form a triangle.

Apply a small piece of d/s tape to each inside corner. Fold flap over and adhere to body of bag. Put aside for now.
Score 4” x 1 1/2” pieces in half lengthwise at 3/4”. (If you cut a little wider you can border punch the edges).
Adhere strips to top of bag. Punch holes at each of 4 corners and add handles. I used 1/4” strips of suede paper. (ribbon) Add Velcro Closure and treats.
Decorate front as desired.

Hallowe’en Treats Galore – YNS

Hi all, Madge here for another Wednesday – have you ever had a day where you want to scream at the top of your lungs “Stand in line and take a number”!!!!!
Well, the last 24 hours have been that day.
My remedy for all my stress?? CHOCOLATE!!!!! Today, my little project will do just that!!
I’ve chosen to showcase YNS (Your Next Stamp) stinkin’ cute “Happy Hallowe'en, Spooktakular, Spooky Hello and Trick-or-Treat for my little treat bags.   These spooky little critters are ALL available at OCS.
I chose Capella DP from the Cappella collection…….but while perusing the OCS store, I saw paper that would be absolutely perfect…. Take a look!!
Coloring was simple and quick using markers and Distress inks.

The bags have velcro closure topped with a floral punch. The Spider is the closure tab for the little bag with the sentiment underneath.   The self adhesive backing for the velcro showed through the floral punch, so I added copper glitter – stuck down perfectly!!

“Spooky” was stamped on Vellum and fussy cut it to pop it on top of the DP……kind of ghostly!??

Sentiments were added to the inside of the little treat bags.
These little bags (Tutorial will follow) are so quick and easy to make up and the little YNS images available at OCS, fit perfectly!!

Wicked Sweet – YNS

Hi all, Madge here for another wonderful Wednesday at One Crazy Stamper. I just can’t get enough of the sweet Hallowe’en images from Your Next Stamp at One Crazy Stamper! They are just so darn cute!

I’ve chosen Wicked Sweet for today’s card. I tore this card apart because it was photographing very dark – then I masked the image and sponged in the moon – it gave the gloomy papers just the right “pop”. Since I am out at the lake, I didn’t have a “stash” to dive into to change anything. The boys are doing some much needed dock repair……….ahem…………………major dock repair. Just like replacing a zipper in a pair of pants – takes longer than to actually make the pants!

OK back to the card. I stamped the image, colored it with copics……………assembled the card, then decided that it needed a big Yellow Harvest Moon…….. easier to do when the card is not assembled!! Then I shaded the white with Concord Distress Ink. The background paper is a brayered piece from 100 years ago…….. it fit in perfectly – the ribbon and brads are from my stash.

Magnolia Mingle – Tilda

Hi all, I’ve been trying to catch up on some loose ends for mailing and DT obligations before time gets ahead of me. What a gorgeous fall we are having here in BC!! Our time at the lake is being extended!

I have created an Easel card featuring “Tilda with Watering Can”. I love this little image because of her pinafore!!!

W-a-y back in May, I stamped a couple of dozen of this one image to “practice on”. Of course some of them turned out to my satisfaction – and had been stamped soooooo close together – they had to be cut out…….. (a lot of little ridges). Here is one that I put together as an easel card for my first Magnolia Mingle.

The papers are from DCWV’s Far East Stack which I happened to pick up at Homes Sense for $6.99!! 48 sheets of “8” x 8”!! I love deals, and deals that I actually LOVE are the best…..lol

I’m pleased with it. Hope you’ll leave a comment as to what you think?

YNS Apple Pie Kid

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year – the colors, the smells, the abundance of sweet, juicy, crisp Okanagan APPLES – mmmmmmm. I’ve chosen a sweet little stamp set called Life is Great (aka: Apple Pie Girl) – from YNS available at One Crazy Stamper The image was stamped onto Xpress-It Blend cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.

I chose to do a “pull tab” card, (measuring 5” x 5 1/2”) which is a fun card for such a fun little image. The oven mitts, (and sentiment)are part of the stamp set and were stamped onto double sided paper. To get the opposite mitt, I cut the mitts out then flipped them over. The dots, were a mistake – They are the hot glue / metal discs (I forget the name of them, but as soon as I put one down, I knew that there was no going back.

The Martha Stewart punched borders were sponged with Fired Brick, along with the oven mitts. DP is from stash.

TREATS from YNS

Get ready for surprises and prizes galore on the OCS blog this month for the launch of Lora’s Brick and Mortar store in Bolton, ON.
One of the numerous stamp companies that is being showcased is YNS (Your Next Stamp) September Releases. The DT has had the privilege of working with the fall releases thanks to the generosity of Lora at OCS.
So many fun images!!! So many ideas!! So little time!! And an Easel Box it was!! Filled with hidden treasure! CHOCOLATE!!Here is what I came up with. I used a single 8 1/2” x 11” piece of cardstock for the box (tutorial to come).
All stamps are from OCS’s, YNS (Your Next Stamp) September’s releases.

The final “treasure?? CHOCOLATE. $2 worth at Dollarama.
See the spider and the bat?? They are Cuttlebug die cuts – the spider is perched on a web made from the stretchy net the candy came in (a tiny version of the bags onions come in). No self respecting Black Widow would be dull in color so glossy accents came to the rescue -- on the bat, spider and pumpkin.
I have patterned paper in my craft room that would make most Scrapbooking Stores pale in comparison, but I love to create DP from cardstock. Yep, I’m strange! A circle was cut to use as a mask for the moon and those yummy distress inks from Tim Holtz (Spiced Marmalade; Dusty Concord; Mustard Seed and Black Soot) were sponged to give the sky affect. The same was done for the “Happy Hallowe’en” and “Trick or Treat”. A Martha Stewart border punch made the fence in a flash.

Isabelle with puppy – Sara Kay – Stampavie

Hi all, Madge here for another wonderful Wednesday showcase. I’ve chosen to use a wonderful little summer image of Isabelle with puppy by Sara Kay for Stampavie.

I love these images as they are loaded with so much detail.

I wanted my image to literally “pop” off the page – so I cut out the main image and layered it onto the same stamped image, leaving all the fussy details in the background. The background was pre-colored by sponging with Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Broken China and Peeled Paint). I added highlights for the grass and flowers.

I had colored this image a while back, so the search was on for the DP’s to match. I found them in my 6 x 6 stash from “A Walk in the Park” collection.

Supplies used: Xpress It blend cardstock; Memento, Tuxedo Black ink; Copic Markers; Tim Holtz Distress Inks; EK Success Border Punch; DP’s from “A Walk in the Park; Flowers and Ribbon from stash; Misc SU Cardstock.

Banjo Maya – La La Land Crafts

And a Wonderful Wednesday to all. Madge here, with a La La Land Crafts image called Banjo Maya. I must admit, this one had me stumped – but here is what I came up with.

I stamped the image onto Xpress It blend cardstock (especially for copics), and dug in with my copics. C0; C1; C4, W0; BV23; BV25; BV29; BV31; R00; R95; Y18; G07; and BG24.

The Designer Paper is from a Bo Bunny “Ad Lib” 6 x 6 pad which I thought my Maya needed to brighten her up.

I decided to make a run for crazy colors to change her from drab to “fab”! lol When I got finished with the pleats on her dress, I thought she looked drab, so I drew in some polka dots and colored them to match the paper. Excuse the pun – but Cow-a-bunga! Just what Maya needed.

Supplies used: Xpress It Cardstock, copic markers, SU Cardstock, BoBunny DP, Spellbinders Scalloped Circles and Circles dies

Cordelia – Kraftin Kimmie

Hi all, Madge here for another Wonderful Wednesday!
The stamp of choice for today is Cordelia from Kraftin' Kimmie. Isn’t she a sweetie!!?? Coloring her was sooooo much fun. The camera doesn’t pick up the iridescent highlights, but they are there. I used Copic Markers to color the image.

I sponged a DP cut from Spellbinders Labels 17 for the background and a couple of DP’s from Echo Park “Splash collection” to fit into the Fun in the Sun theme for OCS this month. As this card will be mailed, I tried to keep the dimensionals to a minimum, using “dap” sealer for popping the fish, fins and bubbles away from the background. The seaweed is another Spellbinders die which was sponged to give it some “pop”.

Seaworthy Edwin

Hi all Maggie lovers! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted a Maggie – even though I’ve been making cards.
This card is for our son’s birthday and in keeping it on a more masculine theme, it is a circle easel card, sans lace and flowers. He loves to sail and since we all spent some time at the beach two weeks ago his Dad and he did some sailing.
I used Edwin with binoculars (although it looks like a telescope) (sometimes the English translation gets a little lost…..lol) I sketched a Sea background onto white cardstock, and covered it with a round frame to look like a porthole. The rivets were made from stacked circles of Silver paper, glued together to give dimension.
Edwin was colored using Copic Markers: R00; R20; R37; R39; C4; C2; BG72; BG75; BG78; & BG99.
I used a Marianne Creatable die for the large scalloped circle and edged it with sponged punchies from an older EK Success Corner punch. .
Since I am entering this into the Magnolia-licious Highlights challenge using “paper only”. I made an accordian chain to pop Edwin away from the background.
The compass “stopper” is an SU stamp, stamped and layered to make it dimensional.
Here is a close-up of the little cutie Edwin…… I am trying to get the hang of folds and creases – I still need lots of practice!

Whiff of Joy – Willow in Summer Breeze

Hi all, and a wonderful Wednesday to you! Today, I have “ Willow in Summer Breeze” to show you from Whiff of Joy stamps.
I stamped Willow on X-press it blend cardstock, colored her with copics, cut her out and mounted her onto a shape punched from a Martha Stewart punch-round-the-page. To give the shapes some definition, I ran copic markers around the edges.
DP’s are from Bo Bunny Ad Lib Collection and the sun and card front are from my stash. I used a Martha Stewart border punch to make paper lace and wove a pink ribbon through it, shaped it into a bow and added flowers to the center.
We are still at the beach, and I inadvertently forgot that today was the beginning of the challenge week!!! YIKES! Good thing I brought some stuff to play with!!

Stampavie - Zoe Gazing at Butterfly

Madge here for another “wonderful Wednesday”. Today, I’m sharing a card made using an sweet stamp from Stampavie called ZOE GAZING AT THE BUTTERFLY by Sarah Kay. This must have been a popular one as I don’t see it in Lora’s store at the moment. I purchased it because the image was so sweet, and because my grandmother’s name was Zoe. A perfect combination!
I absolutely love the Xpress it blending cardstock made especially for copics, the color doesn’t disappear, but remains bright and beautiful. I stamped my image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, colored it with copics and then cut it into a rectangle, rounding the corners. I backed it with a die cut from Marianne Creatibles and backed that with a 6 x 6 Webster’s Page. I then fussie-cut two side panels from a Webster’s Page and mounted it over top of the matted image. The butterflies and pearls came from my stash. I then mounted it onto a 6” square card base.
Keeping in the theme of our July Challenge at One Crazy Stamper, I used two papers from Webster’s Pages, One image and three embellishments (butterflies and pearls). I hope you will join in on the fun at OCS challenge and post one of your creations for a chance to win OCS $$$.

While this is being posted, Art and I will be enjoying sun, salt water, and fireworks. See you next week!

YNS – Pierre from France

Hi all, Madge here once again for Wonderful Wednesday. Today I chose a stamp from Your Next Stamp called “Pierre from France”. Brings back wonderful memories of our visit to France and of the baguettes and Brie cheese (unlike any Brie you have ever tasted, because the French don’t pasteurize their cheeses)(at least not the ones that aren’t exported). This set also comes with a little dog and an Eiffel Tower. To keep with the recipe challenge at One Crazy Stamper, I’ve added 3 embellishments, (well maybe a couple more than 3), 2 designer papers and 1 image (well, maybe 2).

I stamped Pierre with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Xpress It blend c/s, colored the image with copic markers, cut it out and mounted it onto SU Confetti Cream. I also used the Parisian Accents Spellbinders die, a MS border punch, and 3 dimensional accents by Joli. The Designer papers are Websters Pages.

We are all getting very excited about Lora (One Crazy Stamper) opening a brick and mortar store in September…….it means lots more stuff to choose from!! And a little birdie told us that perhaps Magnolia Stamps are going to be making a come-back. How exciting is that? YNS – Anika From Holland

Hi everyone! Madge here for a wonderful Wednesday once again.
I’ve chosen to use a stamp from Your Next Stamp called “Anika from Holland”. My Mom was Flemish, and I remember her telling me of her father getting very angry with her for breaking her wooden shoes…….isn’t it funny what sticks in your mind? My Mom also had carrot red hair (natural), so I had some fun with this little image.
The challenge for the month of July at One Crazy Stamper is a recipe challenge which is 1 image, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments for a chance to win a gift certificate at One Crazy Stamper….. however I mixed the recipe up a wee bit by using 1 image, 3 designer papers, and 2 embellishments………. I never have been one to use the same ingredients for a recipe. lol

I started out stamping Anika onto Xpress-It Blend Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured her with Copic Markers. I also added a little pattern to her dress with my Copic Multiliner. Spellbinders Oval dies were used to die cut the image and the mat. The Designer papers are from Bo Bunny, and the mats used are from SU. A Martha Stewart punch was used for the heart border. Two buttons were added from my stash, adding additional coloring added with a Sakura Stardust Glitter pen.

Cottage Mouse

Hi all, Madge here once again wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday. We are back at the lake to relax and get away from it all once again. Not having my usual unlimited crafting supplies at my fingertips, narrows down my options, but here is what I came up with……… I’ve created a card using “Cottage Mouse” by Stampavie, from Lora’s wonderful store, One Crazy Stamper.

If you are hooked on Copic markers , have you tried the Xpress-It-Blending-Cardstock?? It is fantabulous for blending!! It pains me to use anything else…… the colors seem to be so much more vibrant!

Cottage Mouse was stamped on X-Press It with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, colored with Copic markers, trimmed and sponged with Tim Holtz “Broken China" distress ink. SU’s Cherry Cobbler was used for the matting, followed by a S-E-I DP punched with a Martha Stewart Around the Edge set (Vintage Floral), and then matted onto more SU Cherry Cobbler. I started out with a 5 1/2” x 11” piece of SU’s Blush Blossom but the contrast between the BB and CC were too orange, so out came Copic Marker RV10 to bring it to a pinkish shade to blend with the SEI DP………..phew!!

OOps, I forgot to add that I stamped the wee little mouse a second time, colored her and then cut her out to pop it up off the main image. For co-ordinating flowers, I chose pale yellow roses and brushed the edges with YR21 and added pale pink roses to tie them altogether. I also finished the inside with the reverse punched papers. Hope you like my creation.

Kraftin’ Kimmi’s Patsy

Hi all, Madge here for another wonderful Wednesday. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, what more could we want?

Today, I’ve used “Patsy” from One Crazy Stamper’s store. Takes me back a few years! I stamped the image with Tuxedo Blk Memento ink onto XPress Blend it copic paper, colored her with copics and added DP’s from s-e-i.

My card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2”.

Rock Chic – Kenny K

Here it is Wonderful Wednesday – hope everyone is enjoying the sun and warmth of spring. We are socked in with rain here in the Okanagan Valley, but we do need rain to water all those bedding plants at home. I’m at our Lake property and dh is fishing in Alaska with friends on their gorgeous boat the Kluane II. They say “Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for one day, but teach him how to fish and he’ll be gone whenever he can go fishing”. It’s true.

Today, I’m using “Rock Chick” from the Kenny K glam series. It was fun to work with and really out of the box for me. I really love these images! Hope you enjoy my U Roc! card.

I stamped the image using copic Xpress c/s and Memento ink, colored her, and then cut out and mounted onto a labels 14 with dimensionals. The guitar was covered with glossy accents.

Rainbow Wishes

Hi Everyone. One Crazy Stamper has a “Color of the Rainbow” theme for June. Enter your card for a chance to win some very nice prizes!

Different ideas came to mind, but to get away from the cutesie images I’ve been doing lately, I chose the set Fanciful Flourishes from Flourishes stamps.

Materials used: Fanciful Flourish Butterfly, Tim Holtz Distress inks, Black Memento Ink, Xpress Blend it copic paper, Stardust glitter pen, Transparency and Black StazOn ink. Ribbon from stash and butterflies were punched from trimmings of the background paper. I also added 3 graduated Black Pearls to the butterfly that I stamped and trimmed to pop up over the background. The Stardust glitter pen was used to add some doodles on the butterflies.

Have a super extra special week – the weather in our part of the country is supposed to get warmer!!! Yea!!

“Gone Fishing’”

Hi everyone, Madge here! Happy “over the hump day”……… Of course, when you’re retired every day is a Sunday, right? Except when a holiday is thrown in and “yikes”, it’s Tues. already!!

I chose this stamp from One Crazy Stamper a couple of months ago – and can’t seem to find it in the store…….. It is called “Gone Fishin’”.

I made this with the intention of doing something very fancy and wonderful, but then decided that it would be an ordinary card. A very good friend of ours turned _ _ and he loves fishing! and has a sweet little white dog that sometimes accompanies him. Thought this image was very appropriate.

Materials: Express Blend it copic paper, Broken China and Tea Dye Distress inks, Gone Fishin’, Copics, Deckle edge Spellbinders die, DP from stash, EK Success dragonfly punch, Fish buttons from stash, Very Vanilla and Marina Mist Cardstock from Stampin’ Up.

Whimsy Animal Collection – Giraffe

Hi all, Madge here with some Tall Wishes for a Birthday Card for my son-in-law. (who happens to be 6’4”, dark and very handsome – 15” taller than me – so very tall). The masculine theme fits right in with the May “masculine” challenge at One Crazy Stamper.
I’ve used a variation on a graduated tri-fold card. Normally the card would be cut from the Top right to the middle of the left side of an 81/2” x 11” piece of cardstock, creating an angle cut and two cards. I chose to cut down each of the thirds on the fold to create a level.

I really love these zany animals from the Whimsy Animal Collection. Lora has them all in her summer clearance right now. My copics were used to color the “cheeky” Giraffe. Speaking of copics, there will be an increase on copic products August 1st 2011. If you are needing any colors now is the time, while the pricing is low. Holy Catfish!

Hi all, Madge here once again. I’ve spent the last week making the transition from our house to the Lake for “fishing season” the second trip this year. Our 5th wheel is only an hour and twenty minutes away from our house, but when we get out here there is no desire to go home except for emergencies and to pick up snail mail. Beautiful place to be. The downside? I don’t have all my stamp room here:( The trunk of my car is just so big and we had to bring other insignificant stuff…..like food and clothes…….lol
To keep with the Masculine Theme for May at www.onecrazystampercom.blogspot.com my card today features the Whimsy Animal Collection called “Cat and Fish” which appears to be sold out right now at http://www.onecrazystamper.com/, but I’m sure Lora will order if for you if you’d like.
I had the idea to make the fish bowl spin, however, it was a little challenging because the bowl wasn’t uniform on both sides. So I added the “Holy Catfish! to the other side.

Willow with Flower Basket

Hi, Madge here. Today I’ve chosen to use a Whiff Of Joy stamp called Willow with Flower Basket. I love the simplicity, yet beauty of these stamps – and Lora, at ONE CRAZY STAMPER, has such a wonderful selection and fantastic prices to go with them.
My friend Wendy, (thank you Wendy!) sent me this double-sided card Creatable – I chose to use copics to match the paper. I’m sorry, I did this card a week ago and have misplaced the list.
I used the following: Xpress-It Blending cardstock, Memento, Tuxedo Black ink, Copic Sketch Markers, Pearls , SU Lacey Border Punch, and miscellaneous cardstock and ribbon from stash.

Magnolia-licious Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest entry

This is a very long post – so if you’re going to read it to the end – go potty, grab a cuppa and be prepared to sit for awhile!

Front of Card - I used the lattice punch to build the trellis. Happy Tilda has socks -- which I converted to shoes.

My entry was ready two weeks ago…then reconstruction took place….one week ago…more reconstruction….and finally today. I have de-constructed s-o-o-o-o much, I decided, enough is enough.

I’ve been told that this is a Concertina card?? I have no idea.The above picture is really squished up to fit in. It is a double interlocking layer. It looks huge – when in all actuality it is only 5 1/4” wide x 5 3/4” high (outside perimeter of lattice) and 5/8” deep. It ties neatly with a ribbon and can fit into a bubble envelope for mailing.

I stamped Tulip Walkway, bleached out the background and stamped over top. Tilda Picking flowers was cut out and popped on with 3-D dots. Flower Soft was used for her bouquet.

Tilda with Curls has a Flower Soft Bouquet, and Leaning Tilda (image swap) were used. On the inside front I wrote:
“Welcome to Angel Park,
where Magnolia children play.
They hike, they swing, ride bikes, pick flowers,
or simply enjoy the beautiful day.
Friendly critters scamper,
darting here and there.
Everyone is happy,
Spring is everywhere! “

I made this type of a card 4 – 5 years ago – spurred on by a creative friend who showed me one that she made. It was absolutely gorgeous, so I had to try it. Totally different card back then (vintage collage), but I’ve been dying to have a go at it once again and the Magnolia-licious contest gave me the reason.

At the back of the card (inside) I wrote another sentiment:
“Hoping you liked your visit,
to Angel Park today.
Isn’t it a wonderful place,
to enjoy the beauty of a Spring day.
Magnolia Angels speak from the heart,
never having to make a sound.
This card was made especially for you,
to feel the happiness around.”


The swing is made using jute with Cherry Tilda popped up on 3-D dots. Tilda with Bike has a Bouquet of Flower Soft.

Jungle Tilda is colored in "Spring" Camouflage.

Tilda with Hawaii Flower / Tilda Carrying Lamb, Tilda with Straw Hat and Tilda with Flowing Hair: White Flower Soft was sprinkled onto the lamb and colored Flower Soft onto the bouquet and basket of flowers.

It was so much fun creating this ……ideas kept mushrooming…... some frustration and a lot of indecision, but mostly fun, now that it’s finally the way I want it, I am pleased with it and ecstatic that I can get on with another card!!
The gigantic problem?? Which Magnolia stamps to choose……..believe me, that is one tough decision!!!!! They are all so sweet and cute. If you had 100 children – which 14 would you choose?? lol

Tilda with Butterfly Jeans is sitting on a fence with a cloud background (image swap). Tilda and her bunny is so sweet, the tail on the bunny has Winter White Flower Soft sprinkled on it.

The initial card construction was easy-peasy, creating the scenic ambiance was fun and “interesting”. The stamped background is Orchid Park (Alota Rubber), which I stamped, masked and stamp-ma-jigged to create a continuous scene. That was lightly colored with copics as I didn’t want it to distract from the main focus of the Magnolias. All Magnolia images were colored with copics….. (what fun!! like a kid in a candy store).
The lattice was cut from a EK Success punch and the hundreds of tiny flowers for the front were from an edger punch. I cupped them with my stylus, and dotted the centers with yellow. The leaves are from an older vine punch. The magnolia blossoms that you see are all from the Open Gate. I colored them, cut them from the fence, added glossy accents and then fussy cut them. They cover a multitude of glue faux paux.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my creation and would love to hear what you think. If there is enough interest I will do a pdf file for a tutorial at a later date.

Two posts in one day!! Really unusual for me. I can’t keep away from those sweet little Magnolia’s from Diana's store, Magnolia-licious.
A friend has a Birthday coming up, and I thought I’d make her a card with a daffodil – Here is “Tilda holding a Daffodil.
I have been squandering a piece of Basic Gray paper from the “Porcelain collection” and decided to use it for a Pink and Green Challenge, the sketch is from Mojo Monday, Sketch 186.

Here is a close-up of Tilda. As you can see, she is wearing pearls (added with white pearl pen), and the daffodil has glossy accents added. The “bench” she is sitting on is an MS punch, punched back-to-back. These little people are getting cuter and cuter……….and I love practicing with my copics……. practice makes perfect, right?

Windows to the World

Hi all, Madge here. I’m late posting today because I had a sticky situation with glue. First it wouldn’t dry – and then I knocked my finished card smack dab in the middle of it – face down! Do you ever feel like it is just not your day?? It wasn’t my night. I finally packed it in and started all over again this morning.

This stamp is from a Flourishes stamp set called “Windows to the World”. April is “flower” month at One Crazy Stamper – so I thought “flower soft” would fit in quite nicely.

I chose to do a gate-fold card to keep the image in the focal point.

The beauty of polymer stamps is the storage, seeing where your image is going to be stamped……….and flexibility!!! The “Wish you were here!” is in a straight line. I thought curving it to match the arch of the window would fit into the design better……. and yes, it did.

One Crazy Stamper April Challenge

HAPPY, HAPPY HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!! No pranks or jokes today – – Lora at One Crazy Stamper doesn’t have any either -- but she does have the best prices in town!!. You will be amazed at all the stuff she has on sale (everything!!!!!)!!

Don’t you just love poppies and daisies together…they are signs of spring. A friend has a backyard full of these blossoms and it is a beautiful field of Red and White in the spring.

Today I’m showcasing a card made with Sheena Douglass’s beautiful “Poppies and Daisies” stamp set. The images were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto X-press it Cardstock and coloured with Copics. Lora recommended I try X-press-it Blend Cardstock made for copics and I am so glad I took her advice!! Copic colours “pop”, blending so easily. I think the reason they blend so well is because the Copics stay wetter longer.

Liking to add variety of card formats, I decided to make a Stair Step Card. I stamped the poppy image onto X-press it C/S, masked it, then off -stamped the sentiment to make it appear in the background. Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink was used to sponge the outside perimeter. The daisies were cut out and popped onto the side steps. The rest is self explanatory.

2012 Calendar Tutorial

Hi all, Madge here with a Christmas Project Tutorial to get you started on gifts for special people. A homemade gift is straight from the heart and shows that you have taken the time to make something special. I have been making these calendars for about 3 years. Last year I made 30 to give as a “Christmas Card” to my stamping buddies.

You can adapt this to any size you would like, but for this sample / calendar, I have made it A4 size 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”.

Materials: Sturdy cardstock: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” (or 6” x 12” or 5” x 10”). Length is double desired height.

         2012 file (Print onto white cardstock, and cut apart).

          Unfortunately, my calendar pdf could not be uploaded - if you print the above at 6 columns and “gray font”. You will get a good replica.

         4 designer papers: 4” x 5 1/4”   (Good way to use up those Designer Paper pieces & scraps).

I used 4 wonderful 6” x 6” pages from Webster’s Pages. purchased at OCS Lora has a wonderful selection of 6” x 6” pads.

4 Mats: To coordinate with papers chosen. (scraps! scraps! scraps!)

Assorted embellishments: stamps, inks, punchies, Designer Papers. Scraps! Scraps! Scraps!

14“ Soft ribbon (ie: satin, organza)

1/4” hole punch or anywhere punch

Strong adhesive to guarantee your calendar can                  withstand a year of being displayed.

Lets get started:

Step One:   Score cardstock in half along longest edge (8 1/2”) This will give you 4 “pages”.

Step Two: Cut out each month, and mat in groups of 3.

Jan. Feb. March / April May June / July Aug. Sept. / Oct. Nov. Dec.

Step Three:   (Tip) I make a 1/4” frame to visualize the placement I want for my “page” layout.

Step Three:   Cut Designer paper 1/4” smaller than your “page”   ie: 4” x 5 1/4”. Adhere to “page”.

Step Four:   Add matted months and any embellishments.

(Let your creativity run wild).

Step Five: Punch 2 holes about 1/2” apart on the centre bottom of your pages.

Step Six: With Jan. Feb. Mar. facing you - thread your ribbon into the two holes, leave 1 1/4” on the pieces in the middle, and tie a bow.

Your calendar will be freestanding and ready to give to that special friend on your list.

Bernadette Admiring Spring Flowers

Hi all, Madge here once again. Today, I’m going to show you what I’ve created using one of the many gorgeous images from Stampavie, Sarah Kay’s wonderful “Bernadette Admiring Spring Flowers, available at One Crazy Stamper.
If you follow along with OCS’s challenges, you’ll know that this month our DT Leader Jacilynn supplied us with an awesome sketch. Well, to keep up with the challenge, my card has followed her sketch (well, sorta / kinda).

I turned it into a platform for a Round Easel Card. (The blue background is the mat to my little Scor-Buddy, which I just L-O-V-E.)
Inside, “may your day bloom with happiness”, is stamped.

I really loved the way this card came together and even used a piece of patterned paper that has been kicking around forever – hundreds of pieces of cardstock and dp’s and this is the piece that saved the day!
Supplies used: Copics, (too many to mention), Spellbinders Scalloped Circle dies, MS border punch, Prima flowers, MS Fern punch, Bazill cardstock, and Organza Ribbon and butterfly charm from stash.

Can Spring be far away?

Here Tilda sits in a ray of sunshine, thinking that Spring is only a couple of days away. Yesterday was blustery and cold, today, sunny and warm, what is it going to be?

I love this image of Tilda with Big Bow. I used copics to color her with thoughts of spring. Pink and Green came to mind.

I used the Beaded Oval Spellbinders and cut the center out with a basic oval die, mounted it over a larger white oval and made a little ledge for Tilda to sit on. The Doohicky Swirl is coated with Stickles, as are the flowers

I’m always reluctant to send flowers in the mail, but I have learned that if I coat them with Glossy Accents, it hardens the fibers and they don’t arrive looking like they have been beaten with a club. This card is for a very dear friend, who has been going through a tough time lately. The inside says -- “To Cheer You”.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hi all, Madge here again. Today I’m using the cute little image from Whiff of Joy by Elizabeth Bell which can be found at One Crazy Stamper. These gorgeous images are whimsical, yet detail perfect.

I used copics to color the image, too many to list. I apologize for the picture as my computer had a much needed “surgery” and I’ve lost my photo editing software (temporarily). Also lost all my email contacts / and emails……. (ugh, grrrr, rant, rave). Hopefully it will be restored soon.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Hi all, Madge here. I’ve chosen to share a card with you today using the adorable set by Penny Black called “Teddy & Company from http://onecrazystamper.com/ .

It may be still cold and bleak looking outside, but we may as well dream “spring”.

A little over a year ago I was asking myself if copic markers were worth their “over-inflated” pricing. After a year of playing with them, the answer is “YES”. I love the way they blend, I love the way the smallest most minute touch lends itself to colour. YES, my friends they are worth every penny! Check out Lora’s prices at the OCS Shop ….they are so inexpensive!

OCS also has a contest for March involving a sketch – submit your interpretation of the sketch and you will have a chance to win $$$ at Lora’s shop. Can’t wait to see your submission!

Tilda’s in a jam

I am a hopeless Magnolia lover!! Can’t get enough of them, can’t colour enough of them…………….. it’s an addiction.
Enter the “loverly” Jam Tilda. She is just so sweet. I don’t have this Tilda, but received the image through an image swap. I may just have to buy her also.
I was lucky enough to acquire a Marianne Creatable die cut for the doily. Just love those dies also…….. Have a butterfly that is just waiting for a place on a card.

Ok, wasn't quite happy with the plain jane variation that I first came up with -- added the rather large flower...still not happy.......... will try something else.

Let’s skip winter and move on to Summer

OK, I’m ready for summer………..let’s get this snow melted and the temperature heated up!! While I was away, I think that sneaky little groundhog did a number on me and saw his shadow. Brrrrr. Two weeks ago, I had a sunburn…… should have stayed put and refused to come home!!

I’m sure there are places with worst temperatures that our balmy –4 celsius. (But my mind is still on the Cruise Ship, sitting in the warmth of the sun, sipping iced Chai Tea Latte’s.) OK, enough complainin’!!

Today, I’ve chosen to showcase a beautiful Sarah Kay image available at One Crazy Stamper. Lora has so many beautiful images, it is hard to decide on just one to work on. This week’s card is a very simple one – as I’ve been suffering with an ugly cough / cold and haven’t felt very creative amongst the kleenex piles.

A friend (thank you Wendy!!) came to my rescue by sending me this “paper”……….and the colour was absolutely perfect for a quick card not to distract from the gorgeous image (coloured with my favorite, copics) of “Roses Garden” from Stampavie. Head right over there to look at all the stamps Lora has on sale. ------ Wait!!, before you go, please view my card………. It has been a couple of weeks since I’ve done this, so…………. * ta da * . YEA! it worked.

Tilda with Basket Picking Flowers

Are my thoughts wandering towards daffodils, tulips, forget me nots and warmer weather?? YES! YES! YES!

In keeping with the PINK challenge for February at One Crazy Stamper, my mind quickly thought of pink flowers and what is more appropriate than Tilda with a Basket picking flowers. When I chose this stamp, Lora at One Crazy Stamper had it in stock, but if you really want it, email Lora and she will try to get it for you.

Is February too late to give someone a calendar card?? Is it bad luck?? I hope not. This is a mini booklet of the months for 2011, I made the calendar with Microsoft Excel cut it out, stacked the months and then glued the top together to make a booklet.

Dangling Tilda

What could be better than to combine last months “LOVE” challenge with February’s “PINK” challenge at One Crazy Stamper

I chose Dangling Tilda from the Magnolia Stamps that OCS has magnificent prices for, along with some Magnolia DP. In order for me to make a true Magnolia card with all the bells and whistles, I made an Easel card – which is my favorite of all cards to make.

The heart was drawn freehand, cut out and edged with a strip cut from a MS punch, (snipping into the strip at intervals to mold it to the heart shape).

This card will be given to the special fella in my life, *wink* *wink* , and since we will be somewhere on the Mexican Riviera Valentine’s Day, I will give it to him then.

When using my copics, I had to try out the newest copic craze – folds and pleats. Oh my! It is hard to visualize.

Fanciful Flourishes

My order from One Crazy Stamper came today – and in it, the Fanciful Flourishes Set. When I looked at the stamp set, the technique that came to mind was one that we learned from an SU Stamp Club and created by our uber-talented Cheryl. She is amazing!
Please forgive my photography for this one – the sponging looks so white, but in real life it is quite vibrant. This one seemed to be the least washed out.
My card is 5” x 5” using SU cardstock: Navy, Black, and Whisper White. Another layer was blue glimmer paper from an unknown source. I stamped the White with elements from Fanciful Flourishes in Black Stazon .
Note: (remember when using Stazon with acrylic stamps – clean your stamps right away with a good stamp cleaner that will condition your stamps).
I then sponged the squares with Faded Jeans and Antique Linen Distress Inks. The heart was stamped in Broken China and covered with Glossy Accents, sprinkling clear glitter on it while still wet. I stamped a script stamp onto the white sponged pieces with Pumice Stone and layered. The “With Love” sentiment, from the set, was fussy cut and sponged to give dimension.
I added 3 clear Dew Drops, which were coloured with Copic B39.
Hope you’ll give this technique a try – it has a very vintage dimensional look.

Love Never Melts

Meet “Siku and Shiya” two little Eskimo children (I’m assuming that they are Eskimo, forgive me if that is politically incorrect). When I first saw this stamp at One Crazy Stamper, from Stampavie, I knew exactly what I wanted to do to fit perfectly into the “LOVE” theme for Jan. at One Crazy Stamper.
My card measures 5 1/2” x 4 1/8”. I used copics R00, R20, E21 R24, R28, B00, B66 and B69. Also used C0 and C4 for shading and Tim Holtz distress inks (Broken China and Tattered Rose) for sponging around the heart.
Stickles, ribbon, Love stickers, and snowflakes from stash.

The surprise is the way the card opens – it “breaks open”. The tutorial for a Break-a-way Card can be found on my blog.

Tip: I matted my decorated cardfront onto Not Quite Navy (SU), cut another identical mat and used repositionable tape to adhere both mats together with the card front facing up. I then cut the two exactly in half vertically to get the four identically sized pieces for the break-a-way card.

Whole Latte Love

Anyone who knows me accepts my crafting addictions…………..but may not know that I do have another non-crafting addiction. Chai Tea Latte…….. I buy the Chai Tea by the case, milk by the gallon and treat myself to one-a-day “Grande, no fat, decaf, Chai Tea Latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top………. YUMMMMMEEEEE!

My card this week features a stamp from YOUR NEXT STAMP and to coincide with the February challenge at ONE CRAZY STAMPER’S being “LOVE” – Well, here is my “Whole Latte Love”.

mmmmmmmm, I can almost taste the wonderful hot spicy milk throgh the spicy froth on top….

The cup from Your Last Stamp, was shaded using Copics: E50; E51; E53, the hearts using R35 and R39, applying Glossy Accents to them and sprinkling with ultra fine glitter.

I created the froth using White Opal Liquid Pearls, waited for it to dry, then shaded it with E70 and E71 to achieve the look of Chai Tea froth. The same copics were used to simulate the table to ground the cup.

Trevor is hitting the slopes

Can you believe that 2011 is almost here??!! This will be my very last post for 2010. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday enjoying time with family and friends.

You may even be on a Ski vacation like our friend Ski Bunny Trevor, who is on the slopes sporting his new Christmas attire. Santa was very good to him and his Grandma knit him a cozy sweater with a matching scarf to keep him warm. This stamp is just the cutest and quickest to bring to life. I've had him coloured for quite a while just itchin' to put him to paper.

I used the following Copics to colour my image:
Skin: R00; R20 Sweater: R14; R24; R35; R39 Pants & Hat: B000; B01; B06; BG45; BG72
Hair: Y23; Y26; Y28; YR24 Boots, Gloves, Shading, Scarf, Skis: B39; B37; BG72; C4; C7

I had some trees colored and cut out from a previous project and used them to create a winter wonderland scene by applying white glue and sprinkling Art Institute - Frost Ultrafine Glitter
to give the snow some sparkle.

Instead of using my Spellbinders "Labels Eight" to cut out the image, I used a trimmed negative for a frame, matted it with red cardstock and punched an MS Border Punch down the right hand side. This was all mounted on paper from 6" x 6" double-sided paperpad from Webster's "Santa/Sweet Season" and then put on a black card base. Another tree and two snowflakes joined together with a Rhinestone were popped onto the frame with foam dimensionals.

Popcorn Bear is ahead of the Game

Are you almost ready??!! because.................... "Santa Clause is coming to town".........

Popcorn the Bear is jumping ahead a little to wish you all a Happy New Year! I love this little image of Crafter's Companion Golfer Popcorn. OCS has so many of the "Popcorn" sets in stock, you’re sure to find one to suit a card for anyone.
I found that he was so easy to color and hardly used any color at all, keeping him light and sunny looking. The Happy New Year letters were punched and mounted on a sign that was sized to fit between his arms. (I cut off the golf clubs and poked two holes in his hands to insert the twine to hold the sign. Glossy Accents was used to stabilize the letters.

Spellbinders: Labels Eleven
Misc: (snow) Frost Ultrafine glitter, ribbon and DP from stash.

When I saw this image in Lora's store, I just had to have it! It is so sweet! I had so much fun bringing it to life with my Copics.
The end result took very little coloring as the image speaks for itself. I also used some of the 6 x 6 Webster’s pages. These cardstock weight papers are so rich and beautiful! The 6 x 6 pads are scaled down versions of the 12 x 12, which make them ideal for cards. They are my absolute favorite papers!

Mojo Monday Challenge #167

For Mojo Monday Challenge #167, I decided to make Tilda With a Hanging Star into an Ornament to fit the challenge.
She is such a sweet little Tilda – aren’t they all??!! I would have posted this much sooner, but my camera was having issues – actually, the “user” was having issues. I love my camera. DH has a DSLR that requires a u-haul to carry all the equipment, and mine – well it is an “almost” DSLR that I carry in a small bag. My other camera that I have with me all the time – well, it is small and fits in my purse quite nicely.

And here is my creation. I think “Tilda With a Hanging Star is just the sweetest………..

This is the first time I have had a pleasing results experimenting with the copic R’s.
R22; R24; R29; R39.

I cut Tilda out and popped her onto a circle with “Dap”, (the acrylic bathtub grouting compound).

I had forgotten all about the effects of giving dimension, and is easy to apply to those tiny little pieces you want raised. I have thumbs that hurt most of the time, so I paid a little more and got the trigger pump. Really easy to use and it lasts forever. I don’t think it is acid free, so wouldn’t recommend it for scrapbooking and it does take a while to harden
.
Here is a side view of my card, I used some navy snowflake DSP on the inside and punched out some large snowflakes, then popping it onto some white to make the snowflakes pop.

I will write on the navy with a white gel pen and add a computer generated “newsletter”.

Break-a-way card Tutorial

Hi there stampers, I’m going to share a tutorial on how to construct a “Break-a-way card”. This is my very first tutorial, so I hope you can follow along comfortably. If the pictures appear too small or too dark, click on the image and it will double in size.

Materials:
4 – 4 ½” x 2 ¾” cardstock (SU Cherry Cobbler)
1 - 5” x 3 ¼” cardstock (SU Cherry Cobbler)
1 - 5 ¼” x 2” cardstock (SU Cherry Cobbler)
4 – 1” circles ( I used flowers) punched from C/S
2 – 2 1/4” x 3 ¾” Designer paper (Bo Bunny)
1 - 4 ¾” x 3” Designer Paper (Bo Bunny)

Step 1

Other Materials:
SU Word Window Punch
SU Up Corner Punch
1” Flower Punch ( 1” Circle punch would work)
SU Dimensionals
3-D foam tape
Glue dots (no larger than your punched circles or flowers).
1 – matted image of your choice (approximately 2” x 3”)

Step 1: Cut all pieces of Cardstock and Designer Paper. Punch 4 - 1” circles (I used 1” flower punch)

Step 2: If desired, at this point you can punch the corners, stamp and distress your Designer Paper pieces.

Step 2

I used Tim Holtz (Brushed Corduroy) Distress ink (available here at OneCrazyStamper) here after I punched the corners. The Snow Bracket stamp is a Stampendous stamp also available at OneCrazyStamper.

Step 3: Attach your Designer paper to the corresponding pieces of cardstock. Set aside.


Step 4

Step 4: Take the 5 ¼” x 2” piece of cardstock and lightly draw a pencil line ¼” from each end and at the 1” mark down the center.

Step 5


Step 6

Step 5: Line the Word Window punch up with the ¼” mark, centered with the pencil line in the middle. Punch a slot at each end.

Step 6: Place a dimensional in the center of 2 of the 4 circles, or flowers ,you have punched.

Step 7

Step 7: Position each of the flowers behind the horizontal slots you punched, lining them up so the dimensional fits through the slot. Peel off the backing and top with the other two – sandwiching the dimensional. Check to make sure it will slide smoothly in the slot.

Step 8

Step 8: Put dimensional at each corner and at the center, top and bottom.

Step 9

Step 9: Place the matted sentiment face down (base) on the cutting mat, using the grid to align your center points on all sides. A small piece of tape or some repositionable tape will hold it in place.)

Step 10

Step 10: Peel the backs from the dimensionals and center the piece on top of the base.
Press to adhere.

Step 11

Step 11: Make sure the circles (flowers) are pushed to the end of the slots on the inside. Place a large glue dot onto each circle (flower).

Step 12: Using repositionable tape to keep it in place again, line up the two back pieces (4 ¼” x 2 ¾”) for the card (no Designer paper) onto the mat. Press the glue dots to adhere.

Here is how it will look when you flip it over.

Step 12 & 13

Step 13: Cut 4 strips of 3D foam tape to 2 ½”. Place alongside the Top and bottom of the card. Snug them up to the sentiment base. Too tight will prevent the slider from working smoothly. Test before you proceed to the next step.

Step 14

Step 14: Peel the back off the 3D foam tape. Carefully place the two matted designer papers on top, lining them up with the sides of the pieces at the back. Press down to adhere.

Step 15

Step 15: Test the sliding mechanism of the card and embellish as desired.

Because I like the recipient to be able to display my cards, I cut two pieces of cardstock 2” x 2”, scored one edge at ¼” and applied adhesive to the 1/4”. I then adhered the pieces on the back, flush with the bottom of the card on each side.

Shake, Rattle and Roll Tilda

As soon as I saw the challenge of shaker cards, hosted this month by the uber-talented Barb Hardeman on the Magnolia-licioushighlights challenge blog, I thought of Tilda with Autumn Leaves rolling in the leaves and having a giggling good time. Then the idea to make her roll and move came into play with a spinner card with Tilda. I had so much fun coloring this little Tilda - just the look on her face is enough to make me giggle. Diana at Magnolia-licious has her in stock only a mouse click away.

I used a discontinued color of SU to make the background (Marigold Morning), punched the borders using EK Success English Ivy border punch and distressed the edges using Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany. The Ribbon is from my stash and is absolutely gorgeous because the leaves are actually outlined in gold, the wired edge of the ribbon is copper. I cut some of the leaves out to embellish the paper. The shaker box is filled with punched tiny leaves that I colored and distressed with Distress Inks.

I've had this card made for about a week, but my PC was in ICU and my Laptop has an issue with blogger for some reason. So, it has been sitting on my desk shaking to get out of the camera....lol

I'm really pleased with the outcome of the spinner / shaker card. It is a little larger (5 1/2" x 6"), but I will make a custom envelope for her and send her on her way. I will post a picture of the inside later as we have an appointment in a few minutes.......see you then.

Bewitching Tilda

I'm entering this card into the paperplay for the " A Haunting we will go challenge.

This is my one and only Halloween card that I made for this year which will be hand delivered tomorrow. I don't usually get too thrilled making cards for this occasion - the desire to dress up and party has disappeared:(

A friend of mine makes booootiful Halloween cards -- but then again, she has all the stamps to fit the occasion ..
My new little Witch Tilda, which can be purchased from Magnolia-licious, came to the rescue. Diana seems to be sold out of this particular witch, but there are soooooooo many others to chose from and if you ask her nicely, she'll order it for you.

Tilda's been coloured with copics and dusted with perfect pearls to make her "green". I made this into an easel card, and popped the Martha Stewart punched fence on to stick out from the rest of the card. then added glue and perfect pearls to look like skeletons hanging from the fence posts and glossy accents to the pumpkins to make them glow.

The background paper started out as yellow then I stamped it and started adding orange, purple and black. The haunted house is a Stampin' Up set, which I have used again and again.

Sparkle and Glitter Dinner Tilda

I have been working on my little "Tilda" project for about a week, and finally completed her. The Spellbinders Nestabilities "Labels Seven" available at Lora's (Canadian) online store, which have been in my case for over a year finally got used.

I decided upon an Easel card using iridescent white for the pages and shaded them with Tim Holtz Antique Linen, to give depth. Dinner Tilda, which is available at Magnolia-licious was coloured with copics: B91; B93; B95; R00; R20; E00; C01; and a white glaze gel pen for the pearls and shoes. Icy Stickles were used to add some bling to the silk flowers, ribbons, beads and the little flowers inside. I wrote a very tiny letter on the book page, picturing Tilda writing in her diary while waiting for Edwin to take her out to dinner.

The inside is another Magnolia stamp available at Magnolia-licious. I used the EK Success punch for the scrolls and flowers and Martha Stewart's Sunburst border punch for the sentiment and for the outside decorations, distressing the edges with SU Pretty in Pink.

Mojo Monday Challenge #152

Another Monday and another Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I need another masculine card and thought that I would combine Sketch 152 and my most recent Greeting Farm stamp. I know,

this is a masculine card, so what’s with the flowers?? Well the recipient of this card loves flowers – that is in the garden, tending to them, watching them grow and I swear sometimes it appears that he even talks to them to encourage them to flourish. So, in this case the flowers were an added touch. The little fisherman – well, that is because he also loves fishing (he would prefer catching, but he keeps fishing).

The fish are little buttons from my stash – that I’ve had kicking around for years. I decided to hang them from loops on the cord with glue dots, and then I covered them with glossy accents to keep them in place forever.
On the inside I’ve pasted a piece of the plank dp and will write a sentiment with markers to appear like graffiti.
Most of all, I had fun making this card. I am so in love with my copic markers that I find it hard not to use them on every card I’ve made recently! They say practice makes perfect…….. well, in my case I just hope to improve.

A Card for my little Angel

Birthdays are always special and this one is no exception – it is for a little girl who I will always call my little Amy-kins. I’m allowed because I’m her gramma, and she loves me and tolerates me.

A friend sent me an image of Tilda Blowing Bubbles and I just had to use it for this Birthday Card. The Sentiment says, “May your day bubble over with fun!!” I cut the image out and mounted it onto a white background embossed with my new Stampin’ Up folder. Then I lightly rubbed a dauber inked with Bashful Blue across the raised embossing. Different size circle punches were used to make “bubbles”, which I added glitter to, making them iridescent.

I used my copics to colour Tilda, using Blue and a bit of Violet to shade. I really love the results. Then I added more glitter to the dress and wings by feathering the glue pen and sprinkling glitter over it.

The card is an easel card which I just love to make – the formula for whipping them up for any size is so easy once you master it and allows the card to stand for display while the sentiment inside remains hidden.

I found some white flowers in my “stash”, and coloured them by spritzing them with alcohol, (no, not the drinking kind) and colouring them with my copics. The alcohol makes the “bleeding” so perfect.

I had this card in my mind for Amy-kins – and for once, everything fell into place making it easy to put together.

Birthday Boy

Our oldest son's Birthday is on the 15th of August. Since this has to be sent, I'm posting it early - I'm sure he doesn't check his mom's blog therefore I'm relatively safe in not spoiling the surprise.

This little stamp is from The Greeting Farm - and he is just soooooooooo sweet. DH and this son just returned from a fishing / bonding trip. They both had fun and enjoyed the two days time away from the every day happenings.

I happened to have this stamp already and when I took a Copic class recently this is one of the images that we had to "practice" on. LOVE my copics!! Here is a close-up. It will be hard to get back into "normal" card making in September after having such fun with Magnolia Stamps and little fellas like this one.

Mojo Monday Sketch # 150

This week is the Mojo Monday Contest week, for a chance to win a stamp set from Verve Stamps.
Julee Tilman has some wonderful stamps and her customer service rocks!!

A friend has a Birthday this week and to kill two birds with one stone - I created her card around the Mojo Monday sketch. It's a very "basic" card as this friend does not like fussie or frou-frou. I would have loved to make a Magnolia Tilda card and gussied it up with lace, flowers and ribbons, but slapped my hands and kept to the basics. Even this may be a little fussy for someone who likes plain, no fuss, no muss....... lol

The patterned paper is from Basic Grey; the stamp from Sunshine Designs; leaves are cut with my Cricut. The "bling" at the bottom of the card are self-adhesive holographic micro dots. Bling with no bumps (lol). Even though this card is just going down the street and not being mailed, I had to keep to the plan. (plain-jane).

My card came about for the challenge over at Just Magnolia which is "Vintage" and for the

Basic Grey Challenge.

I found a link to make flowers with a Cricut Cartridge and this was my first attempt - It is big, but not bold. I thought it looked very "vintagy".

I love this little Tilda holding eggs and decided to use her in the challenge. Diana at Magnolia Stamps appears to be out of this stamp, but if you ask her nicely, she will order it in.

I usually go much more distressed for a Vintage look, but felt with the large flower this was a good balance. Still not quite absolutely positively sure about the flower, but it is glued down so I will have to keep it for now.

Lace Strip: Martha Stewart Lace Edge Border punch
Flourish: Cricut Storybook cartridge
Flower: Cricut George cartridge; paper scraps; Stickles; Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink.

I cut and embossed the image with Spellbinders Label Four and distressed it with Walnut Stain distress ink. I also distressed the papers with the same ink to give it a vintage look.

I'm looking forward to taking a copic class at the beginning of August - I'm really wanting to learn how to use them to get the fabulous results that I keep seeing.

The inside of the card doesn't have a sentiment added because I haven't decided what to use yet. I have decorated it with a vintage rose paper scrap using the MS Lace Border punch and MS Butterfly.

Tilda Holding Lilacs

Monochromatic Madge has struck again!!

It is so easy to slip into the comfortable, safe and sometimes boring monochromatic state. I envy those of you who can intermingle colours and patterns to get absolutely marvelous results. When I try, it looks like yesterday's breakfast left on the counter overnight.

This is another card that has to be mailed for a swap, thus it is no thicker than 1/4" - I try not to make them entirely flat, but I try to keep it thin enough to slip through Canada Post's mandated slot (which, I believe gets thinner and thinner after the postage lurches up that incredible penny every year).

A friend sent me the image of "Tilda Holding Lilacs", so I just had to colour her up.

Lavender, lilac, mauve, and light purple all favourite colours of mine - even though nothing in my wardrobe is any of the above.

I used copics to colour Tilda and "The Spring Fence", cut them out and popped Tilda onto the fence with 3D tape. I stamped off the SU " Blossoms Abound" stamp onto the white SU top note die cut with Lovely Lilac and sponged the edge to pop it off the Always Amethyst top note, also sponged with Lovely Lilac. The DP is also SU. The ribbon is iridescent white, knotted and tucked under the DP and the flowers are a 3D sticker found in my "purple" stash drawer

Dinner Tilda

Isn't it funny how cards happen. A friend recently had a Birthday and I had an idea for a card.......the paper, the stamps, the layout and the template all came together -- until it came to putting the elements together, then the original idea went astray. The card was meant to be an easel card, the stamped image didn't fit into the portrait plan, so had to be switched to landscape..... the papers were a little too bright for the intended image, the layout - well it changed because of the paper. To make a long story short, I ended up with a card that was never intended to be.

I used copics to colour Dinner Tilda, available here. It appears that Diana is out of stock on this particular stamp, but will be more than happy to order it for you if you absolutely need it.

I cut the image out and mounted her on a 3-D ribbon sticker. I used dollar store flowers, which were white and coloured them by spraying them with alcohol and using copics to get the shading. The stamens are little stamen clusters bought on another sprig of flowers at the same $$ store. The leaves are a prima flower, which I separated and glued down to make leaves. I cut the border on my cricut, using design studio along with the border around the frame. After I mounted Tilda in the circle, I decided to shade with Copic C-1 to make the image appear to be shadowed. I'm rather pleased with the way the card turned out considering that I had a totally different plan for it to start with.

Another Mojo Monday Sketch contest and a chance to wiln a stamp set! Well, any stampaholic can't pass up a chance to add a stamp to her already daunting collection!

Here is the sketch we had to work with. I'm sitting at the lake with only Magnolia stamps - so guess what I had to use............... Midsummer Tilda . She is coloured with copics. Just love the results of those little markers.

Tilda with Violin - 2nd post

Here is another Tilda with Violin card, made for a stamping friend who plays the Violin (also known as "ANNABLER".....lol I give her such a bad time about getting me hooked on these sweet little stamps, but I also thank her for opening my eyes.

Copics added a touch of colour to this Tilda, but I left the majority of the dress untouched to keep it pure white. I used the same musical note sticker paper on this one as my previous post, some polar white Flower Soft for the wings and layered some prima flowers with stamens from some faux silk flowers I had on hand.

The inside is decorated to finish off the card.

Maggies two-fold

Creative juices are not readily flowing these days. We've had some impending disasters to tend to and it apparently has sucked all my desire to create right out of me. However, I have managed to create a couple of cards - one a thank you for a sweet neighbour who brought over, not one, but 3 tetra packs of Chai Tea for me and a bottle of wine for dh.

This stamp is so sweet, and I am one of the lucky ones to have gotten it as a free gift from Magnolia-licious , Diana treats her customers so well -- What a gift!! I understand that it hasn't been released for sale yet.

Here is the card.

The image was coloured using copics. I used some SU designer paper for the background, a piece of musical note sticker paper bought at our local "Welkmart" and the flowers were bits and pieces of some flowers bought at the same store. (Welkmart - is a bargain basement store only here in Vernon). I don't go in very often, but my hairdresser is right next door so when I have to pay for parking and have a few minutes -- that is where I head.

Next is a card that will be sent as a swap card for an exchange group I'm in (Canadian Card Exchange). I tend to keep them very flat for mailing. This one is using Loves Me Tilda.

Once again I used copics to colour Loves Me Tilda. I don't have many objects for my "maggies" to sit on, so I cut her out and created a ribbon fence for her to plunk her cute little bottom upon.
The flowers are from my stash of pretties and the butterfly is an older butterfly punch.

The inside is decorated with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and a leftover piece of the designer paper used for the front of the card edge punched with another MS punch

Mojo Monday Sketch 142

I found myself with a little time on my hands today rather than being out in the full sun planting bedding plants. We've been late putting plants in because of being away for May. Rather hard to get interested in our poolside planters because our pool is a green slough. Here in the Okanagan we are under severe water restrictions. City officials have given us the okay to fill pools once -- but since we need a new liner, we have to wait for the pool company to fit us in.

A friend, (the same friend that fueled the fire for my addiction to Magnolias) gave me an image of Tilda With Glasses, hence the card for Mojo Monday.

The image was stamped with StazOn, so using my copics was out of the question. I used distress inks and markers. I think I need to practice more.

Another friend told me the reason Magnolias do not have mouths. Being angels, they speak from the heart, thus do not need mouths. All I know is that they are so darn cute, I have to have them all!

Here is what I came up with for the Contest week for Mojo Monday.

I used designer paper from Me and My Big Ideas that I've probably had for a few years for the front and inside.
Flowers are Prima (aren't they beautiful?)
Sprigs behind the flowers are a Martha Stewart punch.
The tabs are cut from cardstock with spray adhesive applied, then dusted with perfect pearls.

The inside of the card says, "Just sitting here, thinking of you".

Mojo Monday Sketch 138

Here it is better late than never, my Mojo Monday interpretation of Sketch #138.

Nothing special about the card as I'm working with limited stamps sitting out here at the Lake. The weather has been so perfect, dh has been catching fish (catch and release) and we're both as content as can be. I used the Asian Artistry SU set to stamp the blossom and instead of cutting it out I mock-popped by cutting the blossom to a smaller mat and cut around the overhang - giving the illusion of it being cut out totally and popped up. The DP is from Basic Grey Porcelain collection.

I hear Wedding Bells

My nephew's oldest daughter is getting married!! The gift of choice is probably $$ because they have lived together for a year, so, I needed a container / card to pop a check into. One of the wonderful creators at Magnolia-icious gave me the idea to make a box easel card. Forgive me, but I can't remember the link to give credit to someone.

This card is four boxes in a box, because I had to make a box to give it in. Diana at Magnolia-icious sent my Tilda Bride and Edwin Groom just in time for me to play - and play I did - for 3 days to get this right. Diana also gave me a little tip - to order the Bride and Groom separately so that they can be used individually or together on a card. Great idea Diana! I coloured the images, cut them out and popped the bride up in front of her Groom. I apologize for the photography - I'm sitting in the sun out at the lake and can't seem to get the proper lighting.

Mojo Monday Sketch 137

A little late for Monday, but better late than never. Check out the different format for the Mojo Monday entries here. Makes for so much better viewing.

This week is also another contest week. My little card is just an entry - a flat little card, because it has to be mailed. I'm so in love with the little Magnolia people - they are just too darn cute.

This card is using the Summer Tilda stamp. The flowers are from Stampin' Up, which I coloured, cut out and arranged them to go beside Tilda.

Of course, I altered the interpretation of the sketch by turning it 270 degrees to make it work with the image I chose. It is a bright and sunny card that is going to be sent to a bright and sunny person.

Happy Birthday to a Sweet Niece!

Many years ago I became an Auntie to the sweetest little girl. She will always be special, because she was born on my dh's Birthday -- April 30th. She is also the daughter of the greatest sister in the world. It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating Art's birthday and got the call to say that I had a new niece.

This card is made especially for her. We've become closer in the past 6 years because she has the same disease I have.............. obsessive, compulsive and hopeless, stamp, paper and ink-aholic. Couldn't be a better way to spend time with a favorite niece. She's so wonderful, she accompanies me to Salmon Arm once a month (on her day off) for our Stamper's 10 Group. How great is that.

So, Sandi - this card is for you. Happy Birthday!

I was struck with inspiration from a card posted by Shelley here. I started out with a criss-cross card, but decided to pop Tilda up to look like she's stepping over the belly band on the card, thus, ended up attaching the belly band to make it stationery. The sentiment pulls up.

For the back, I attached a little flap to make the card stand all by itself.

Thanks to the magnificent talent of the Magnolia-licious gals, the cards they post leave me speechless - I can only hope to maybe someday learn to use my copics to achieve the same results .

Have You Caught the Magnolia Bug??

Have you caught the Magnolia bug yet?? I might have.

Just happened to be in a LSS and a "Tilda" '60's stamp flew into my basket...... Only have one - this week! There are advantages / disadvantages to on-line shopping.

These stamps are just so darn cute! Copics, watercolours, markers, chalks, etc., all can be used to make them come alive. Don't I sound like I just made a great discovery that the rest of the world doesn't know about yet?? lol I've been looking at the cards made with these little beauties, and I'm hooked!!!

Here's one of many "trials" that I put together. This is for a friend for her Birthday, we are taking her out to lunch tomorrow. I hope she likes it - her cards always have that "wow" factor.

I turned it into an "80"'s Tilda by adding glitter to the hair ribbons, the hem of her skirt and the centre of the flowers.
Lots of fun coloring -- mostly with watercolors as I don't have many copics (yet). I popped her out to be sitting on the vertical bars and the musical note brads were a last minute add-on, which I think I will keep.

Mojo Monday Sketch 132

Are you enjoying spring yet? We have had such warm weather here in the Okanagan Valley and now all of a sudden the temps have dipped. Lots of snow at Silver Star - good for the ski season, but not good for the fruit trees.

I've slid back into my "monochromatic me" style for this weeks card. This card, I decided will go to the best sister in the world for Easter. It had to be something special, but not overwhelming - because she doesn't understand "fru-fru".

The sentiment is from Verve stamps. The rest is generic stuff resting in my "raspberry & pink" embellishment drawer.

Hope everyone has a blessed Easter with family and friends. We had planned to head to the Lake to open the 5th Wheel, but have decided to wait a week - the weather being a big factor.
